Driving business innovation and collaboration on the Eastside
On Monday October 10th 2016, iSoftStone hosted a portion of the exclusive Innovation Triangle Briefing and Tour at their Headquarters in Kirkland, WA. The Innovation Triangle is a partnership between the cities of Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond. The partnership focuses on supporting businesses and innovation on the Eastside. Special guests included technology company representatives for 20+ prospective investors. In addition, guests attended from countries including the UK, Canada, China, Finland, Spain and the United States. The program was a follow up to the Innovation Triangle’s participation in the June SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington, D.C.
Innovation Triangle Briefing and Immersion Tour
The full-day tour was hosted in partnership with the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County. The event focused on capturing the innovative spirit of the Eastside. The tour included visits to Microsoft, DigiPen Institute of Technology, INRIX, Carillon Point, the Bellevue Grand Connection, and Puget Sound Energy. In addition, these local business leaders each shared how the Greater Seattle region provides a foundation for cutting-edge businesses to grow and thrive.
During the stop at iSoftStone’s headquarters, President Glenn Bowers shared iSoftStone’s history and new innovative solutions and services. Furthermore, he highlighted the benefits of the region’s business and cultural connections with China and other Asian markets. Additionally, Director of Smart Cities Greta Knappenberger addressed the importance of smart city and IoT technologies in shaping future cities. She also shared an overview of the collaboration between iSoftStone’s North American and Chinese Smart Cities business units.
After visiting iSoftStone, guests were treated to a fireside chat and luncheon with the Mayors of Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond. They discussed how they’re working to create business-friendly environments in each of their cities. The day also included briefings by the Economic Development Council of Seattle & King County and Boston Consulting Group. Additional speakers included Lake Washington Institute of Technology, Talon Private Capital, the University of Washington Global Innovation Exchange, and the Washington Technology Industry Association.
Lastly, the tour concluded with an exclusive VIP Networking Reception at the IMMERSE Technology Summit Expo. Attendees interacted with regional leaders and received a preview of the Pacific Northwest’s leading conference on virtual, augmented and mixed reality.
